Architecture of participation.

Development of the amalgamated hromadas in Ukraine

(Hromada in Ukraine - is association of the neighboring settlements,
based on municipal management of territories and settlements)

Project "Architecture of participation" is package of measures for successful process of participatory urban design including:

- training program for students of architecture,

- planning workshop for representatives of Hromadas Municipalities,

- training for researches,

- participatory design workshops in hromadas,

- 19 student's design concepts for 6 hromadas.

Except coordination of the ukrainian part of the project "Architecture of participation":

- Co-author and trainer of the training program for students of architecture "Municipal architectural practice" (sociology and architecture, training - 24 hours, workshop in the hromada - 6 hours, project 10 hours) - 2019

- Autor of the manual "Participatory urban design with inhabitants. Advisor for the coordinators of participatory planning process of urban places with engagement of the residents" - 2019

- coordinator of the Ukrainian architectural competition in the Hadiach city (including preparing of the output data and formation of the competitive task) - 2020

- jury member of the Regional architectural competition for the concept of park's design in the Slobodo-Petrsvka village, Hrebinka rayon, Poltavska oblast -2020

Integrated Spatial Planning for Amalgamated Hromadas

Co-author of the integrated spatial development concept for Devladivska Amalgamated Hromada, Dnipropetrovska oblast, author of visual materials

Depleted farmland, soil erosion, lack of drinking water and more than 15 empty cultural buildings requiring reconstruction, seasonal unemployment: all of these factors combine a community revival system based on the cultural centers of villages, connected by bicycle system ways. Green areas are protected, big agricultural areas divided into smaller permacultural farms (conception).

Coordination of research and documentation spatial development

2016-2017

After the formation of the city of Hadiach as a city of regional importance in 2016, there was a need to form a new department - the Department of Urban Planning and Architecture, whose main task was to regulate the spatial development of the city. The first document according to which it was possible to implement urban planning activities was a new master plan and zoning, developed according to the new standards of post-Soviet Ukraine. Regarding the new master plan, the city has renewed the process of territorial development, attracting new investments in industry and launching further design of two new districts.

2016-2020

          Some of details were implemented for 2017-2019:
- renovation of porter in front of the church;
- construction of the sidewalk to the school;

- first dog walking area (constructed by volunteers);

- territory lighting;

- playground.

         Were ignored:

- bicycle lines and study site for cycling;

- curved footpaths (were reconstructed as porters according to the old plan as easier and more officiously - on the way to the Municipality office)

Friendship Park in Zhmerynka city, Vinnytska oblast

Concept, working with interdisciplinary team, including inhabitans and experts from Germany ('Plan Z. Transformation of Culture') 2016

Purpose: Friendly recreational place, centre of meetings for local inhabitants.
Raising the cultural level of visitors, semantic filling of zones, transformation of a recreational zone

Urban planning

Conception of the new district of the Hadiach city

2016

Conception was designed to justify the placement of recreational territory in a residential neighborhood  
Urban planning provides slowdown of car traffic, new park for the surrounding neighborhoods, separate recreational areas for new residents at the end of the streets. Later this conception was integrated into new General plan of the Hadiach city (2016).

Previously, the Municipality planned to divide all territory only for residential buildings, without recreation areas and any public places.
